Switching to 8PWD

Apple Passwords / iCloud Keychain → 8PWD

Steps

    On iPhone or iPad (iOS 18): open Passwords, tap ⋯ › Export All Passwords to File. On Mac: Passwords › File › Export All Passwords to File. Older Macs: Keychain Access › File › Export Items.

    Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, and save the .csv to Files.

  3. 3

    In 8PWD, Me › Backup & migration › Import, choose the file. The Apple Passwords template is picked automatically.

    Alternatively, on the same device, 8PWD can receive credentials directly through the system's transfer flow — nothing is written to a file.

What ends up where

Title → name; Username → username; Password → password; URL → URL; Notes → notes. One-time codes are not part of Apple's export — re-add them in the 2FA tab.

After the import

Check a few entries, turn on AutoFill for 8PWD, and delete the export file from wherever you saved it — it is plain text.
