How to prove 8PWD is offline
“No networking code of its own” is the claim everything else rests on. You don't have to trust us: iOS gives you checks you can run yourself, and most apps would fail them.
Don't take our word for it
Three things you can check yourself.
No networking code
The app contains no code that can open a network connection. A test in our build blocks any attempt to add one.
Nothing in the App Privacy Report
iOS records every domain each app contacts. Under 8PWD you'll find none — because there are none.
The only exception is the App Store
Buying or restoring Pro talks to Apple's StoreKit, handled by the system, not by 8PWD. That's the one network event you'll ever see.
The privacy label says “Data Not Collected”
No analytics, no crash reporting, no third-party SDKs. The App Store label is a legal statement, and ours is empty.
Check it yourself
- 1
Open Settings › Privacy & Security › App Privacy Report (turn it on if needed).
- 2
Use 8PWD for a few days.
- 3
Look under “Network activity”: 8PWD lists no domains. Links you tap open in Safari, which shows under Safari.
Airplane mode is the simplest test of all: everything in 8PWD keeps working.
In the app: Me › How to prove 8PWD is offline
The text on this page is the text 8PWD 3.1 shows on screen, in this language; it is generated from the app's own strings so the two cannot drift apart.
