Fill cards and forms from the keyboard

Checkout forms and sign-up forms ask for the same twenty things every time. Store them once; at the form, tap the key icon above the keyboard, pick 8PWD, pick the field.

Fill card details from the keyboard

Store a card once; at checkout, tap the key icon on the keyboard and pick the field to insert. The number never goes anywhere but this device.

  1. 1

Add a card (or scan it with the camera).

  2. 2

At checkout, tap the key icon above the keyboard and choose 8PWD.

  3. 3

Pick the card, then the field — number, expiry, CVV, name.

Fill forms with your details

Name, emails, phones, addresses, ID numbers — stored once, inserted field by field from the keyboard.

  1. 1

Add an identity. You can keep several emails, phones and addresses with labels.

  2. 2

On any form, tap the key icon above the keyboard and choose 8PWD.

  3. 3

Pick the identity, then the field to insert.

What stays on the device

Card numbers, security codes and identity details are encrypted like passwords (AES-256-GCM) and live only in the vault on this device. They are included in your .8pwd backups — encrypted if you turn that on — and nowhere else.

The keyboard fill works through Apple's AutoFill extension. The extension reads one value at a time and inserts it into the field you tapped; it never hands your vault to the app or website you are filling into.

Cards show an expiry warning in advance, and identity documents (passport, ID card, driving licence) flag anything expiring within 90 days.

The text on this page is the text 8PWD 3.1 shows on screen, in this language; it is generated from the app's own strings so the two cannot drift apart.
