Switching to 8PWD

Export accounts QR code

Steps

  1. 1

    In Google Authenticator: ☰ › Transfer accounts › Export accounts, select the accounts, and it shows one or more QR codes.

  2. 2

    In 8PWD, open the 2FA tab, tap + › Scan, and point the camera at each code (or screenshot it and use From Photos). The whole batch is read at once.

  3. 3

    Link each code to its account in 8PWD so it shows on the row and counts towards the security grade.

What ends up where

Issuer → name; account → username; secret, algorithm, digits, period → the code's parameters.

After the import

Keep Google Authenticator until you have signed in once with each new code — then remove the accounts there.
